Whether you need Electro polishing, chrome plating, or powder coating, AMG is there to assist you in determining which surface treatment will be most cost efficient for your project.
Polishing, Plating & Painting
AMG and its partner suppliers offer mechanical buffing and polishing to a smooth high-luster reflective bright surface finish, or satin surface finish, both of which are imperfection-free, by employing a combination of automatic and semi-automatic buffing, as well as polishing equipment.
We also provide bright finish electro-polish, which removes a variety of contaminants, impurities, oxidation, and discoloration such as weld marks, leaving behind a sterile and passive surface. This creates a highly reflective, mirror-like finish, with a smoother brighter appearance of the overall part. During the electro-polish process, free iron on the surface is also removed, resulting in improved corrosion resistance and lowered cost. Electro-polish in a satin finish process is also available for stainless steel and provides a uniform satin/dull finish. Similar to the material benefits that come from bright electro-polishing, corrosion resistance is greatly increased, surface impurities are removed and the edges are deburred. Electro-polishing is uniquely suited for automotive applications.
AMG partners with leaders in the field of plating to offer world class decorative bright nickel chrome plating on a variety of substrates including stainless and carbon steels. Bright nickel plating is one of the most popular and versatile finishing processes available today. Nickel plating is used for a variety of engineered and decorative applications. Nickel also has excellent plating coverage ability. It is a metal that is resistant to corrosion and provides a durable and ductile coating. Nickel chrome is also available in a satin (brushed) finish.
Applications include hexavalent or trivalent chromium plating to meet your specifications. As a low cost and more environmentally friendly alternative to nickel chrome, we also supply chrome flash plated parts that conform to multiple OEM specifications. In this process the Chrome is applied directly to stainless steel. Flash chrome after electro-polishing provides a protective top coat with excellent corrosion resistance that adds a bright protective and lustrous finish. This process is used commonly on exhaust tailpipes or on other applications where heat and corrosive environment are present.
We use the latest technology from our paint booth in the paint application process, and we currently use the Magni C500A high temperature paint for all of our customer applications. Our process continuously produces high quality parts from start to finish to exceed our customers' expectations. For larger scale operations, AMG utilizes its partner company, Metokote/PPG Coatings. With over 53 years of experience built on the foundation of two industry leaders, Metokote Corporation and the Crown Group-PPG Coatings Services offer 41 locations in seven countries that deliver high-quality, innovative, and sustainable solutions.
